Terms and conditions.

These terms govern your use of the Crestfield Legal website and your participation in the Practitioner Programme. Please read them carefully before applying.

1. About Crestfield Legal

Crestfield Legal is operated by Crestfield Legal LLC, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. References to "Crestfield Legal", "we", "us" or "our" in these terms mean Crestfield Legal LLC.

You can contact us at enquiries@crestfieldlegal.com.

2. The Practitioner Programme

The Practitioner Programme is a four month training and work experience programme:

  • Month 1 — structured legal theory training, delivered hybrid in London and online.
  • Months 2 to 4 — three months of voluntary work experience inside a UK law firm in our employer network.

The structure, curriculum, cohort start dates and placement firm allocation are at our reasonable discretion and may be amended from time to time.

3. Placements are voluntary, unpaid work experience

Placements offered through the Practitioner Programme are voluntary work experience. They are not paid roles. By accepting a placement, you confirm and agree that:

  • You are not an employee, worker or contractor of Crestfield Legal LLC or of the placement firm during the three month placement period.
  • You will not receive any wage, salary, stipend or other remuneration from Crestfield Legal LLC or, save where the firm itself separately decides otherwise in writing, from the placement firm.
  • Reasonable, pre-agreed expenses (for example travel) may be reimbursed by the placement firm at its sole discretion, but no expenses are guaranteed.
  • You participate in the placement for the purpose of gaining practical legal experience, which complements your training and may, in some cases, count towards qualifying work experience subject to the firm's own arrangements.
  • The placement firm may, at its own discretion, offer you a paid role at the end of the placement. Any such offer is a separate decision made by the firm and is not guaranteed by Crestfield Legal LLC.

You acknowledge that the statistics on this website regarding placement outcomes describe the proportion of past candidates who secured a paid legal role after finishing their placement and are not a guarantee of any specific outcome for you.

4. Applications and admission

Applications are free. Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. We assess each applicant against the programme criteria and reserve the right to decline any application at our discretion.

If you are offered a place, your participation is conditional on signing our candidate agreement, paying the programme fee in line with our published payment terms, and completing reasonable onboarding steps including identity checks.

5. Fees and refunds

Programme fees, payment schedule and any available bursaries or scholarships are confirmed in writing as part of your offer. Fees are payable in line with the schedule set out in your candidate agreement.

Once your cohort start date has passed and theory training has commenced, programme fees are non refundable except where required by law. We may, in our discretion, offer a deferral to a later cohort in cases of serious illness or other exceptional circumstances on evidence.

6. Your responsibilities

During the programme you agree to:

  • Attend training sessions, clinics and placement days, and notify your mentor or the placement firm in advance of any absence.
  • Conduct yourself professionally and follow the placement firm's policies, including those relating to confidentiality, data protection, ethics and IT security.
  • Treat client information and firm material as strictly confidential, both during and after the placement.
  • Avoid any conflict of interest and disclose any such matter promptly to us and to the placement firm.

Failure to comply may result in termination of your placement or removal from the programme without refund.

7. Intellectual property

All training materials, curricula, templates and other content provided by Crestfield Legal are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights and are licensed to you on a personal, non transferable basis solely for the purpose of completing the programme.

Work product you produce during placement on a firm's client files belongs to the firm. You may not copy, share, publish or use any such material outside the placement.

We exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of reputation, and loss of data, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.

10. Privacy

Personal data you provide is handled in line with our privacy notice. By using this website and applying to the programme, you consent to that processing.

11. Changes to these terms

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes will be dealt with by the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, save where mandatory consumer rules in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings there.
